Most of the housing across Goodyear's service area, including the four named areas with concentrated 2000s construction, was built in a short span centered around 2001. That means a large number of original garage doors are the same age, made by the same handful of builders' suppliers, and now sitting in the same climate conditions year after year. Severe summer heat here doesn't just fade paint - it cycles the steel and foam core through daily expansion and contraction that eventually works the panel seams loose, something that shows up far less in regions with milder, more stable temperatures. Because so much of the stock dates to the same narrow build window, we're often replacing panels on doors that are now old enough that the manufacturer has moved on to a different panel profile, which is the matching problem described above. It's less about any one storm or impact and more about a whole generation of doors aging out together under the same sun.
